Crown Estate Scotland has an exciting opportunity for an Aquaculture Revenues Manager to join our team on a permanent fulltime basis.

About the role

The successful candidate/s for this new role within the organisation will be responsible for:

  • Managing the revenues and expenditures for the Aquaculture portfolio, ensuring rent related procedures such as rent accounting controls, monitoring of tenant’s performance and collection of rent and royalties. are adhered to in accordance with strategic objectives, processes, policy framework and business planning.   
  • Maintaining effective day to day ownership and management of the aquaculture assets revenues portfolio, liaising with CES Finance colleagues as necessary on relevant system and/or procedural matters
  • Maintaining clear and comprehensive records of finfish tenant production, site use, relevant charging for minimum/nursery/alternate use rents, as critical records for aquaculture portfolio management and wider organisational audit and accounting purposes
  • Ensuring the property management system (Propman) is up to date with all relevant invoicing and associated revenue management data
  • Managing an efficient and timely aquaculture charging and arrears management process that provides value to both Crown Estate Scotland and its tenants.
  • The management of the contractors undertaking the annual finfish tenant audit, ensuring that all production is correctly reported and rents charged accordingly
  • Preparing quarterly reports for the Head of Aquaculture (and wider CES management in turn)
  • Prepare and issue all aquaculture portfolio revenue invoices
  • Being the ‘principal point of contact’ for aquaculture revenue business at Crown Estate Scotland
  • Liaising with Aquaculture asset management colleagues on Lease Option Agreement charges and necessary receipting and recording as well as in relation to non-compliance and supplying any information required for legal action in consultation with the Head of Aquaculture
  • Liaising with tenant companies/individuals experiencing cash flow difficulties and agree appropriate payment schedules in consultation with Head of Aquaculture and finance colleagues. 
  • Raising Purchase Orders and goods receipting for aquaculture, as necessary.  
  • Assisting and providing evidence and contextual explanation to any aquaculture samples required as part of internal and external auditing.  

 

The contractual working location of this role is our Edinburgh office.  However, we believe work is something you do, not a place you go to, and we are committed to supporting employees to work flexibly and in a way that suits their role and preferences. 

The starting salary will be £50,521 with potential for future progression as well as eligibility of annual cost of living rises.  The maximum salary for this role is currently £58,653.  The role also benefits from 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 30 days after four years’ service, plus 11.5 of public/ privilege days.  Crown Estate Scotland encourage flexible working and operate a discretionary flexi-time scheme.  This role offers participation in the Civil Service pension scheme.

About You

You should have:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience (Technical or Financial) 
  • Proven experience of managing complex revenue streams, with an ability to forecast income and track performance against targets
  • Experience managing commercial contracts or leasing agreements 
  • Experience in financial reporting and variance analysis 
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as a good working knowledge of other typical office IT systems

  • Good communications skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to a range of audiences
  • The ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and effective workload management
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
